For all four-issue subscriptions to Disegno that are purchased on the Disegno website, readers will receive either a free set of notebooks or a poster, designed by Nathalie Du Pasquier. The poster measures 50 x 70 cm and retails at £45. The series of six notebooks are alternatively A5 and A6, with different cover designs. Each book is made up of brightly coloured paper with a coloured thread stitch. The notebooks retail individually at £9.00 (A5) and £6.50 (A6). Both the poster and notebooks are shipped in uniquely-designed presentation boxes.
A self-taught artist and designer, Du Pasquier rose to prominence in the 1980s as one of the founding members of postmodern design movement Memphis, where she worked alongside Ettore Sottsass, Alessandro Mendini and George Sowden. In 1987, having gained representation from galleries including the Hong-Kong based Le Cadre, Du Pasquier shifted her focus to painting. In 2009, the designer began to revisit her archive, generate new prints, and re-establish her relationship with the design world. Du Pasquier's colourful patterns have since been applied to cushions, accessories and clothing as part of collaborations with brands including Hay, Third Drawer Down and American Apparel.
Disegno #14 will be launched in Milan during the city’s Salone del Mobile, and will be available in stores worldwide and online from early April. However, you can pre-order the magazine, with the Rubberband subscription offer, online now.
