Competition: Cruz del Sur table by Matteo Fogale and Amorim

16 November 2018

Matteo Fogale has designed a special edition of his Cruz del Sur side table especially for Disegno. Building on the original in oak, this version is made up of a series of flatpack components, which snap together in seconds without the need for tools.

To make it, the London-based designer used sustainable cork from Portuguese company Amorim, which comes in light or dark versions. Despite its compact size and light weight, it packs in generous storage space for books and accessories underneath the tabletop.

Fogale was commissioned to create the table to mark Disegno's inaugural crossword, published in Disegno #20. The crossword tests general knowledge across design, architecture and fashion, and has been created by Disegno's crossword setter K-Doc.

To mark the release of the crossword, Disegno is giving away one of Fogale’s tables to a lucky reader. For a chance to win, pick up a copy of Disegno #20, complete the crossword on p. 184 and solve the associated anagram, then send in your answer to by 7 December 2018 to be entered for the prize draw. The winner will be announced on 10 December.

UPDATE: 10 December 2018
The winner has now been drawn, so this competition is no longer live. Please see the winter issue, Disegno #21, for details about the next crossword competition, in which you can win Ian McIntyre's re-engineered Brown Betty teapot for Cauldon Ceramics.
