The Camper Walk will take place on Wednesday 23 September, midway through London Design Festival (LDF), and offers a rare opportunity to see and talk to designers at work in their own studio spaces.
The tour will visit the workspaces of architectural practice Studio Octopi; fashion designer and founder of the Fashion and Textile Museum Zandra Rhodes; and food and experience design studio Bompas & Parr.
The visit to Bompas & Parr’s workspace will be followed by a stop at the studio’s latest project, Alcoholic Architecture. This pop-up bar is nestled in a former gothic monastery in Borough Market and comprises a walk-in cloud of breathable cocktail.
Commencing at 2pm at the workspace of Studio Octopi, the walk lasts approximately three hours, and concludes at the Design Museum with a presentation of the museum’s current retrospective exhibition, Camper: Life on Foot. The exhibition, which features prototypes, sketches, photography and shoes, celebrates the 40-year anniversary of the brand and marks Camper's first major retrospective.
The 2015 Camper Walk follows on from the successful programme of walks that Camper and Disegno organised in 2013. During these walks, we toured a selection of design studios in east London. A film of the 2013 Camper Walks may be seen here.
Tickets to the walk are available for purchase through the Design Museum website. Spaces are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment!
