Blueprint to shutter its print edition

6 July 2020

Blueprint, the influential design and architecture title founded in 1983 by Peter Murray and Deyan Sudjic, has published its last print edition in its current bi-monthly format.

As reported by Dezeen, the title will launch “a reimagined version[...] later in the year”, with its current format coming to an end after 37 years and 369 issues.

The publication's owner, NS Media Group, said that it would “invest in digital and aim to make [Blueprint] a central content hub for architects and designers around the world.”

The title launched in 1983 under the editorship of Sudjic, who would go on to edit Domus and serve as the director of the Design Museum. Under Sudjic and his successors, such as Rowan Moore, Marcus Field and Vicky Richardson, the title became a vital voice in critical discussion of architecture and design.

The title was originally published monthly, before moving to its bi-monthly publication schedule in 2013 under its most recent editor Johnny Tucker.
