Fashion Scandinavia - Movement

London

3 March 2013

Fashion Scandinavia - Movement was a London Fashion Week exhibition intended to open up debate about the emergence of Scandinavian fashion. Disegno visited the exhibition in February and made a film with its curator and two of its participating designers.

Featuring the work of designers from Sweden, Norway and Denmark, Fashion Scandinavia highlighted the emergence of Nordic designers such as Henrik Vibskov, Ilse Jacobsen and Peter Jensen. Disegno explored the collections on display and interviewed the show's curator Dorothea Gundtoft, and participating designers Freya Dalsjö and Sofia Bahlner.

The exhibition was staged at Somerset House as part of the British Council and British Fashion Council's larger International Fashion Showcase programme, a display of the work of emerging designers from 27 countries taking place throughout the city.

Accompanying the exhibition was Fashion Scandinavia: Contemporary Cool a book written by Gundtoft exploring the work of Scandinavian designers and their shared design language.
